Narrated Anas ibn Malik:
The Immigrants (Muhajirun) said: Messenger of Allah! the Helpers (Ansar) got the entire reward. He said: no, so long as you pray to Allah for them and praise them.
The Ansar have done unprecedented good things to the Immigrants in the history of mankind. When they migrated, they were greeted with open hearts and provided with housing, food and clothing.
The Ansar were aware of the needs of the Immigrants and gave them half their homes. There were even cases where some Ansar had two wives: "Brother, choose one of my wives, so I may divorce her and you marry her."
The Ansar have done unprecedented good things to the Immigrants in the history of mankind. Upon seeing the Ansar who performed such great deeds, the Immigrants thought that the Ansar had taken away all the reward and reported it to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) responded:
‘’ … no, so long as you pray to Allah for them and praise them’’
Therefore, if anyone does a good deed, at least one who prays for him will be rewarded. This is one of the examples of Islamic culture. The one who does not give thanks to people does not give thanks to Allah too. It also contributes to the strengthening of relationships between members of society.
