Allah Almighty says in the Quran:
''O you who believe! Spend from what We have given you, before a Day comes in which there is neither trading, nor friendship, nor intercession. The disbelievers are the wrongdoers.'' (Surah al-Baqarah, 254)
Allah Almighty says "O you who believe!", because It is a quality that binds servants to their Lord. The call is focused on spending the wealth and giving nafaka (alimony). In the essence of the word "nafaka" there is also the meaning of where to spend it, that is, means spending one's wealth in the places indicated by Allah.
It is said to spend before the Judgment Day comes. On the Day of Judgment, there will be no need to trade and increase wealth, no work can be done on the basis of kinship, and no work can be done on the basis of intercessors. Here we are talking about a small Judgement Day only, that is, death. Therefore, it is necessary to earn more sawab (rewards) by giving nafaka before death.
