You will be tested through your possessions and your persons; and you will hear from those who received the Scripture before you, and from the idol worshipers, much abuse. But if you persevere and lead a righteous life—that indeed is a mark of great determination.
In all beliefs and doctrines, there must be disaster and trial. There is also suffering and torment from enemies. There is a need for patience and piety to Allah Almighty. This is the path of the highest purpose. The path to Jannah. The path to Jannah is always surrounded by thorns. And hell is surrounded by lusts and pleasures.
What is achieved without hardship does not have value. This is why Allah Almighty tests and hardens the slaves who are fighting for the goodness path - His path. Only then will the callers of goodness gain a firm will. They bear all the burdens of the call.
Those who call on faith, Islam, and goodness, and those who strive for it, will be tested in their possessions. The oppressors may take forcely or destroy their property. When the enemy becomes an unbeliever, he will not retreat back anything. Likewise, the enemies may try to kill the faith seeker. They can be tortured and even killed. This has happened before, and it continues to this day.
But all this is the goodness for the true warriors and those who seek to raise the banner of faith. At the very least, there are many rewards for fighting.
