Aishah narrated:
"Allah's Messenger had a cloth that he would use to dry off with after Wudu."
Commentary: The hadith shows that it is permissible that one should wipe himself with a cloth after wudu. But there was a time when the Prophet (May Allah bless him and grant him peace) did not use to dry with the cloth off. Some people have gotten this second condition. Generally speaking, both will be.
Allah Almighty says in the Quran:
‘’ O you who believe! When you rise to pray, wash your faces and your hands and arms to the elbows, and wipe your heads, and your feet to the ankles.’’ (Surah Maidah verse 6)
Explanation: The obligation of wudu is derived from this ayat. The Hanafi scholars also say from this verse that there are four fard in wudu. These are:
1. Face wash.
2. Washing hands and arms to the elbows.
3. Wiping heads.
4. Washing the feet to the ankles.
A well-known and popular action in our language, which is used as an ablution, is called ‘wudu’ in Arabic.
The word wudu in the dictionary means "beauty" and "glitter."
The Shariah states that wudu is to wash some members with the intention of approaching to Allah.
Ablution is primarily a worship commanded by Allah. It causes the Muslim man to be forgiven of his sins. Wudu means purity. It makes a person beautiful. It will stay people healthy and will bring many other benefits.
