"I used to hate Islam before I became a Muslim. The reason I chose this deen (religion) was Liverpool striker Muhammad Salah," Ben Bird, an English football fan, said.
He says that the player really admired him, made him make a big decision on his beliefs and made him a Muslim. Ben says, "I found myself in truth and this is what I got from Muhammad Salah. I want to hold his hand and thank him."
He told the Guardian Print that he felt peace when he became a Muslim. Ben says he usually watches football at the bar, plays gambles and drinks alcohol. This has become a way of life for many fans in the UK.
During his studies at the University of Leeds in the Middle East, he said he was introduced to Islam and met football fans' song "Muhammad Salah Allah's Reward." He says he has met many Muslim students at the university, and his vision of them has completely changed. Muhammad Salah demonstrates how Muslims are and should be loved.
