Allah says in the Qur'an:
‘’Or like utter darkness in a vast ocean, covered by waves, above which are waves, above which is fog. Darkness upon darkness. If he brings out his hand, he will hardly see it. He to whom Allah has not granted a light has no light’’(Surah Nur, verses 40).
This verse indicates that the waves are divided in two. The seafaring scientist Carson says in his book, "The strongest and most dangerous wave in the ocean is that it does not appear, in the abyss at sea".
For many years, ships traveling the North Sea had a difficult time crossing the road. It is now known that this subterranean wave is resisting.
In the early 1900s, Scandinavian sailors drew attention to the fact that there was a wave below the sea as well. Although their origin is unknown today, their existence and widespreadness are well known. These waves sometimes push submarines away.
The Qur'anic verse mentioned this many centuries ago. It should also be noted that this is not the case in the land where the Qur'an was revealed - where Muhammad(s.a.v) was born and raised. There were no oceans and huge seas, and there was no idea of seafaring at all.
